Marco

Bachelor of Science

Chemistry | Mathematics

¡Hola, my name is Marco! I graduated from UCLA with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry. Although my major is chemistry, I actually find myself spending most of the time studying math rather than chemistry! During high school, I loved both math and physics, so I chose chemistry, which to me seemed like the middle ground between them. Outside of teaching, I like to take pictures of nature, play badminton, and watch Netflix. As an educator, I believe it is important to learn something new everyday. Recently, I have been learning Spanish. ¡El conocimiento es poder!

Bachelor in Education

Mathematics | English

Hi. I am a new Teacher, having just graduated from Teachers College in April 2020. Prior to this, I earned a BSc from McGill University in 2012. In Cegep (Grade 12 and 13), I studied Pure Sciences (Calculus, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Physics etc.). Cegep was about 10 years ago for me, so I do like to be able to review content in these areas before agreeing to tutor individuals in order to ensure that I am the best fit for you. I am currently 30 years old and have been tutoring math ever since I was in Grade 9. I have experience tutoring all ages (from students in Kindergarten to adults). I love math (and physics) but realize that it does not come easy to many. However, a lack of understanding at one level is simply the lack of mastery at a level below (before). I enjoy the challenge of figuring out exactly what it is my students need, and involving them in the process so that they gain a better sense of themselves and a feeling of empowerment. I look forward to speaking with you if you are interested in working with me. All the best!
